Serving CBD in Cocktails
CBD has made its way into cocktails. It's the mixing of two wonderful spheres. CBD is a safe, non-addictive substance that is being used to treat a variety of ailments. CBD is also becoming increasingly popular in the world of cocktails.
CBD adds layers to a drink offering different flavors and textures in the form of oils, powders, sprays, and tinctures. Tinctures and powders can mix into a drink, dissolving thoroughly, while oils add layers of complexity. Being able to infuse these flavors into a drink is great for a mixologist. More flavors means more options and more options means more people can find a drink that satisfies them.
If you are creating and serving cocktails with CBD in the mix, make sure you are transparent with any guests. If it is a party, consider creating a menu of drinks being prepared so guests know exactly what they are consuming. But be aware, every mouth is a bit different and guests are likely to respond to each cocktail with varied preferences.
CBD, as with any other cocktail ingredient, will be noticed by some while others may take no notice at all. And each person will respond to their cocktails with varying physical effects. Many will connect with feelings of calmness, giddiness and euphoria. Others may begin to feel a bit anxious. Emotions are across the board from happy and relaxed to a bit paranoid. Physical pain and discomfort can find relief in a CBD infused drink.
If CBD in cocktails is new to a guest, start their drink on the lighter side. You can be more generous to guests who are familiar with CBD, increasing their amounts in individual drinks.
As will all food or drink offered, be clear about what is included so those with dietary restrictions, allergies, religions preferences, or medications can make decisions that best serve them. Even though CBD won’t get most people fully altered, when serving CBD (or any altering substance) do so safely and responsibly.
