Lies of Proposition 2 Opponents: Utah Already Has MMJ

Lie #2 of the ironically-named “Truth (sic) About Prop 2” coalition is that “Utah already has medical marijuana.”

Oh, man, am I red-faced right now with embarrassment! I had no idea that medical marijuana already is available in Utah. Geez! Why are we even running the Initiative?! Anyway, despite my embarrassment, that is awesome to know! Thanks for telling us, Truthers.

The patients really need this medicine. So, Truthers, where do they get it? Can you give them an address? A phone number? A website? Anything? No, nothing?

You say that doctors can prescribe it. Okay, let’s start there. Who? Which doctors? Which clinics? Names? Addresses? Phone numbers? Anything? No, nothing?

But you said—you took the time to type it on your website and send out mailers—“Medical marijuana is already available to Utahns without Prop 2. Your doctor can prescribe it, or you can buy it over the counter.” That’s your work. But, no? No doctors? No prescriptions? Patients can’t buy it over the counter?

Here is a gut-wrenching video of a Utah boy seizing, for the fourth time that day. His parents need full-plant medicine to treat him. Go ahead, Truthers, please tell Chad and Kristen which Utah “doctor can prescribe it” or where they “can buy it over the counter” for CJ.

If anyone from “Truth (sic) About Prop 2” wants to debate me about this, let’s go! Anyone in the coalition want to disavow this lie?

The Utah Bee seeks to share both sides of a debate. If anyone who opposes Proposition 2 wants to submit a piece with their views, we will gladly accept it.
