The Statute of Limitations on Rape

Rape is a highly emotional experience. It impacts most victims in deep and painful ways. Rape recovery is a personal path, taking an varied and for some an extensive amount of time to sort through. Many rape victims need years to process the experience before he or she has to maturity, the vocabulary, or the strength to face a trial. Often when a survivor is ready to confront his or her rapist the statutes of limitations has lapsed.
